September Craft Night!

September 9 * 7 pm. Craft Night: Fused Silk Design!

Tacoma Is For Lovers presents Craft Night! Each month features an artist introducing a new craft. This month features Miki Hayes teaching Silk Fusion! This process creates a sheet of fabric that can be sewn, used as decorative paper, or sculpted into other designs. After separating strands of silk, one can interlace the fibers on a screen, dampen them, and add a fabric medium to set the work. Participants can bring small, thin, flat materials to work into their piece (flower petals, parts of feathers, etc) or use the ones provided. The $20 fee covers materials, plus a small donation to TIFL and King's Books. Please pre-register with sweet pea as class size is limited. http://www.kingsbookstore.com/events.html#craftysept
